María Paz Zulueta

Associate Professor at the Department of Nursing, University of Cantabria, where she teaches undergraduate courses in Nursing, focusing on women’s health, clinical care, and clinical practice. Within the Official Master’s Degree in Health Care Research, she specialises in research methodology and scientific writing. Her research focuses on women’s health, particularly cancer prevention, as well as on cross-cutting areas such as bioethics, health law, and health economics. She has published more than 60 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, in addition to book chapters and clinical manuals, achieving an h-index of 24, which reflects her strong and sustained influence in the academic field. She is a member of the QMix Salud research group (Qualitative and Mixed Methods in Health Sciences) and the Health Law and Bioethics group at the Valdecilla Health Research Institute (IDIVAL), where she carries out interdisciplinary work aimed at improving professional practice and healthcare quality. She has participated in national competitive research projects and in knowledge transfer activities in collaboration with healthcare and social institutions. With more than a decade of experience in academic management, she has held several positions of responsibility. She served as Coordinator of the Master’s in Health Care Research, where she promoted its consolidation and international projection through strategic alliances such as the AUIP programme. From 2017 to 2023, she was Deputy Head of the Department of Nursing, and in 2023 she became its Head, leading projects focused on educational innovation, strengthening research activity, and promoting the department’s international profile. She currently serves as Director of Academic Staff Affairs at the Office of the Vice-Rector for Academic Staff and is a member of the University Extension Commission, actively contributing to the strategic policy for academic and research staff at the University of Cantabria.
