Sara Ruiz González is a Legal Adviser in the Legal Advisory Service of the Regional Ministry of Health of the Government of Cantabria since November 2023. She holds a degree in Law from the University of Cantabria, having also studied part of her degree at the Università Cattolica Sacro Cuore in Milan. Her final degree thesis focused on the field of political representation and the relationship between open government and information and communication technologies (ICT). She then simultaneously completed a Masters Degree in Access to the Legal Profession and a Masters Degree in Commercial and Consumer Law, both from the University of Cantabria. Her masters theses dealt, respectively, with the financial liability of public administrations arising from the management of the COVID-19 pandemic and with mortgage set-up costs in relation to unfair terms in banking law. She has worked in the field of law and has been awarded several scholarships at the University of Cantabria —in the Guidance Service and the Doctoral School— as well as at the Government of Cantabria. Currently, as a research collaborator in the Health Law and Bioethics Group since 2024, she has participated in various presentations at national and international conferences focusing on the ethical and legal challenges related to the application of artificial intelligence systems in the field of health. She has also complemented her training with various specialised courses in healthcare systems, public management and service guarantees, patient rights, clinical documentation and confidentiality, as well as data protection and health data protection. Finally, in the field of teaching, she has given sessions on healthcare service management, as well as ethics and healthcare legislation.
